A former squadron leader is gearing up for a 910-mile challenge to help support veterans and their families.
Tony Jackson, 65, from Maidenhead, will ride an electric motorbike from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’Groats in Scotland as part of the Charity EV Challenge to raise £10,000 for the RAF Benevolent Fund.
The RAF Benevolent Fund is a charity dedicated to supporting both current and former veterans as well as their families.

Mr Jackson, who spent more than 36 years in the RAF working in both air traffic control and flight operations, said: "I wanted to challenge myself, to show us old blokes can still do stuff.
"I wanted to take on a meaningful personal challenge after turning 65 and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine that with fundraising for the RAF benevolent fund.
"Although we haven’t received support from the charity personally, Trevor worked closely with the Fund during his RAF career to help support long-term sick and terminally ill personnel.
"I’m most looking forward to the ride itself, seeing the country along the route, revisiting RAF Shawbury, and completing the journey with my brother – all while raising as much money as possible for the Fund."
He will complete the journey on a Maeving RM1s electric bike.

His brother, retired Flight Lieutenant Trevor Jackson from Oxfordshire, will accompany him in an electric support van donated by Rygor Autos.
Their route will take them through Taunton, Penrith, Stirling and Inverness, as well as RAF Shrewsbury, where Mr Jackson completed his air traffic control training.
His journey starts on May 28 and finishes on June 2.
He is aiming to drive 150 miles a day.
Battery support will be provided by Maeving and Zapmap will cover the charging costs.
The brothers will be documenting their journey on Facebook with drone footage of their ride.
A press event is scheduled for May 27 at RAF High Wycombe’s Spitfire Gate.
