Grime artist and Wycombe resident, Skepta was pulled over after driving 'recklessly' before being arrested on suspicion of drug driving, a court has heard.
Joseph Adenuga, known as Skepta, is facing court proceedings after a police officer smelt cannabis having pulled him over on London Road, High Wycombe.
High Wycombe Magistrates' Court heard how the 43-year-old, who is a two-time top UK single rapper, was driving a Mercedes-Maybach at the time of the incident on May 14, 2024.
The officer conducted a roadside drug test at 10.54am which came back positive for THC - a component of cannabis - before Adenuga was taken to a police station, it is alleged.

The artist was then charged with driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
Appearing at the court on Easton Street on Thursday, Adenuga spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address as the trial commenced.
Outlining the details of the case, prosecutor Lucy Curran said Adenuga was stopped by PC Talan O’Neill after the officer observed him driving 'recklessly'.
Giving evidence, the Thames Valley Police officer told the court he saw Adenuga overtaking a vehicle on the outside lane.

He added that 'the pace' at which Adenuga was driving when overtaking was over the 30mph speed limit on the road, the court heard.
PC O’Neill told the court that after pulling Adenuga over, he noticed there was a “smell of cannabis in the vehicle”.
Ms Curran said: “He was arrested when that sample came back with a positive result for the THC component in cannabis and then taken back to the police station.”
The court heard Adenuga was compliant throughout this process.
Adenuga, of High Wycombe, has previously pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The trial is ongoing.
