Who has been named as the new mayor of Marlow?

Councillor Jennifer Simnett was formally chosen as Mayor of Marlow at the Annual Meeting of Marlow Town Council on Tuesday, May 12.

She said: "It is a tremendous honour to be elected Mayor of Marlow Town Council.

"I look forward to working closely with fellow councillors, local organisations, and residents to continue building a vibrant, welcoming, and forward-looking community for everyone."

Councillor Olwen Elliott was elected as Deputy Mayor for the 2026–2027 civic year.

Held at Court Garden House, the meeting began with the Annual Parish Meeting, where outgoing Mayor Councillor Muryel Boulay presented the council’s Annual Parish Report.

The report outlined achievements, ongoing projects, and future plans for the town.

During the formal council meeting, committee members and chairs were also appointed for the year ahead.

A spokesman for the town council said: "The newly appointed committees will now begin work on delivering the Council’s priorities and supporting local initiatives across Marlow over the coming year.

"The Council also thanked the outgoing Mayor, Cllr Muryel Boulay for their service and dedication throughout the 2025–2026 civic year."
