Stowe House is inviting families to step into the world of royalty this May half-term with a special event.

Running until May 28 and returning on May 31 from 10.30am–4.30pm, the 'Royals at Stowe House: May Half-Term Family Trail & Crafts ' is giving families the chance to explore the historic house through themed activities and interactive fun.

Children can follow a royal-themed trail through the grand State Rooms and take part in a variety of free crafts, colouring, and make-and-take activities designed to spark curiosity and imagination.

Sadie Bull, visitor experience manager at Stowe House, said: "It’s always wonderful to see families having fun while discovering the royal connections between Stowe House and the monarchy.

"We love seeing little ones putting on their best royal strut through the State Rooms and enjoying the house in such an imaginative and playful way."

On Wednesday, May 27, there will also be a special spring bug garland-making session with the Stowe House team between 11am and 3pm.

Entry is affordably priced to ensure families can enjoy a full day out without stretching their budget.

Children under five can enter for free, while tickets for children aged six to 16 cost £3 and adult entry is £9.50.

National Trust members receive discounted admission at £7.50, and Historic Houses members can enter free of charge.

Visitors are encouraged to make a day of it by walking through the picturesque gardens before arriving at the house, with parking available on-site for those who pre-book.

Inside Stowe House, children can imagine themselves as royalty parading through palatial rooms, while interactive exhibits offer something for all ages to enjoy and explore together.

Located near Buckingham and within easy reach of Milton Keynes, Northampton, Bicester, and Oxford, Stowe House is an ideal half-term destination for families across the region.

The venue is fully family-friendly, offering baby changing facilities, a gift shop, and a café serving light refreshments, including snacks from Towcester Bakes and Willen Ice Cream Co.

The Stowe House Preservation Trust, which manages the site, is an independent charity focused on restoring and maintaining the Grade I listed building.

Founded in 1997, the trust relies on visitor income and donations to fund its work, and a team of dedicated local volunteers helps run the visitor centre.

Stowe House was formerly part of the wider Stowe Estate, which has since been divided, with the house, gardens, and school now managed separately.

The trust continues to work towards returning the house to its former glory while keeping it open for the public to enjoy.
