A Buckinghamshire farm with four decades of heritage announces a seasonal wellness programme: yoga, Pilates, meditation, sound baths, wild spa, and more built on the same philosophy that has always guided it: slow down, show up, and trust what's real.

It started with a table at a farm gate. In 1982, Peterley Manor Farm began selling its produce the simplest way it knew how, directly to the people who lived nearby. Over the decades that followed, a farm shop grew, then a kitchen, then a butchery, a cheese room, a deli, and a host of events with creativity at the centre. But the idea never changed. Just great things, made properly, offered honestly.

Now, in the field behind the Barn Kitchen, something new is taking root.

Peterley Manor Farm is launching a full wellness programme, hosted in a charming canvas yurt nestled in the quiet of the farm's grounds. It is, like everything here, an antithesis to the polished, performative, energy often associated with the wellness industry. No studios with neon lighting. No memberships with hidden cancellation clauses. No pressure to be anywhere other than exactly where you are.

Just a yurt. A wood burner. Eight people at most.

And on warmer days, the canvas walls drawn back to let in the birdsong.

The weekly schedule: Movement without pressure

From yoga and Pilates to Yin, stretch, and somatic movement, the weekly class schedule has been built around a single premise: that movement should meet you where you are.

Classes are led by a small, carefully chosen group of teachers. Sarah of Yogahimsa brings a classical dance background and a somatic approach to yoga, her sessions are an invitation to move away from performance and into something more instinctive. Hayley, whose teaching is rooted in Yin yoga and holistic wellbeing, creates space for stillness and release. Emma, who discovered Pilates as a way to manage chronic pain, blends classical and contemporary approaches to build strength and reconnect body to breath

Drop-in classes are £18. A six-class pack costs £90. Classes are capped at eight.

Yoga Brunch Club: The Sunday morning you’ve been waiting for

Three times a year, the yurt hosts what has quietly become one of the farm's most anticipated events. The Yoga Brunch Club (previously sold out on every occasion) brings together an extended yoga practice and a nutritious brunch in one unhurried morning.

Sarah leads a 75-minute session exploring the solar plexus chakra through dynamic vinyasa flow, followed by a 45-minute meditation and sound relaxation. Then the mats are rolled away, and Katy (managing director at Peterley) serves a seasonal, vegetarian and gluten-free brunch she has spent years perfecting across yoga retreats and wellness events. She will also share her recipes for guests to take home.

Dates for 2026:

  • Sunday, June 28, 9am to noon
  • Sunday, September 13,  9am to noon
  • £65 per person. All abilities welcome.

Meditation circles: Friday evenings in the twinkly yurt

Once a month, as the light starts to fade, the yurt fills with something quieter. Kelly of Room 478, a mindfulness and meditation teacher and published author, leads an evening of breathing exercises, guided meditation, and optional journaling. Herbal teas are poured. Tarot and angel cards are available for those who want them. There is no expectation and no experience required.

Upcoming dates: June 26, July 24, August 21, September 25, 2026. All sessions 6:30pm to 8pm. £25 per person.

Breathing Earth: A weekly practice with Maria

Each week, Maria brings her Breathing Earth sessions to the schedule, a practice she describes as an invitation to softly reconnect to your pure, loving essence. With a background in yoga, crystal healing, soul purpose coaching and angelic reiki, Maria's sessions move through the chakras using breathwork, grounding, and the energy of a different crystal each week.

Her's is a teaching born from personal transformation: loss, burnout, and an eventual realignment that led her to hold space for others on the same journey. The sessions are unhurried, non-judgemental, and rooted in the belief that the simple act of awareness changes everything.

Sound baths: coming soon

Sound bath sessions are in development and will be announced shortly. Those who want to be first to hear can follow Peterley Manor Farm on Instagram or join the mailing list.

And beyond the yurt, Slohaus

For those who want to nourish further, the farm is also home to Slohaus; an outdoor wild spa offering sauna, cold plunge, and warm soak, open year-round. Think of it less as a one-off wellness treat and more as a weekly ritual: a way to reset the body and quiet the mind through heat, cold, and the particular magic of sitting around a fire under open skies.

Slohaus and Peterley also run a bi-weekly run club together, because movement like good food is best shared.

A wellness destination unlike any other

What makes Peterley different is simple: while the wellness world has cycled through celery juice cleanses, biohacking, and 75 Hard challenges, this farm has been doing the same thing it has always done. Growing food properly, welcoming people without ceremony, and trusting that slowing down is not a trend, it never needed to be. The wellness programme is an extension of that same instinct.

Whether you come for a single drop-in class on a weekday morning, or you build your week around the yurt yoga on Tuesday, a sound bath on Friday, a run with the club at the weekend, a cold plunge at Slohaus before the Sunday Yoga Brunch Club Peterley has become somewhere you can ground your whole wellbeing practice. Set on a working farm in the Chiltern Hills, surrounded by seasonal countryside, with food prepared from scratch in the Barn Kitchen, it offers something the glossy wellness industry rarely manages: the feeling that you are being looked after, rather than sold to.

This is somewhere worth travelling to. And for those who already live nearby, it is somewhere worth coming back to, every week.
