A secondary school in High Wycombe has raised more than £400 for charity at a recent summer fair.
Students from Wycombe High School managed to help gain £404.24 during their annual Student Summer Fair, held at lunchtime on Thursday, July 2.
All the proceeds went to the school’s six House Charities.
Nicola Renyard, headteacher at Wycombe High School, said: "It was wonderful to see so many of our students supporting this year's Summer Fair with such enthusiasm and generosity.
"The event perfectly reflects the values we encourage at Wycombe High – kindness, teamwork and making a positive difference to others.
"To raise more than £400 in a single lunchtime is a fantastic achievement.
"I am incredibly proud of everyone who helped organise the event and of all those who came along to support it.
"Every penny raised will help our six House Charities continue their valuable work."
Charities supported through the school’s house system include the NSPCC for Austen House, The Children’s Society for Bronte House, and Prevent Breast Cancer for Curie House.
Other beneficiaries are the Marine Conservation Society for Nightingale House, Comfort Cases for Pankhurst House, and Show Racism the Red Card for Parks House.
The summer fair is organised and supported by students, who gain experience in leadership, teamwork and event management skills while raising funds for causes important to them.
