Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge has revealed he lost over £1million on a business that was badly affected by the Covid pandemic.

The 53-year-old restaurateur, who owns several businesses, which includes The Hand & Flowers and The Coach, opened about the financial setback in an interview with The i Paper.

Kerridge said an events company he owned was performing well before Covid but ultimately had to be sold at a significant loss.

He told The i Paper: "We lost £1.5m on a business. It was an events company and we sold it, but we took a massive hit.

"It was post-Covid, so there was nothing we could do."

Despite the loss, Kerridge said the business led to valuable connections with M&S, which now stocks products from his food range.

The Marlow-based chef said he and wife Beth Cullen-Kerridge now feel "financially stable", owning five restaurants alongside a television production company, consultancy company and media company.
