An arrest has been made after a 64-year-old man was taken to hospital with ‘serious and life-threatening injuries’ following a High Wycombe crash.
At around 1.20pm on Sunday, September 6, officers received reports of a collision between a black Audi Q3 and a pedestrian outside Lidl Supermarket on London Road, between Hatters Lane and Coopers Rise.
The emergency services arrived at the scene and cordoned off the London Road as paramedics treated the pedestrian.
He has since been taken to John Radcliff Hospital where he currently remains.
Following the incident, a 50-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit and driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs.
He has been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
Investigating officer Sergeant Paul Reading of the Roads Policing Unit said: “This collision has left a man with serious, life-threatening injuries and our thoughts are with him and his family at this incredibly difficult time.
“We are carrying out a thorough investigation and are appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision, or who saw a black Audi Q3 in the London Road area before the incident, to please come forward.
“Even the smallest detail could prove vital in helping us establish exactly what happened.
