A Grade II listed 17th-century house in Princes Risborough is for sale with a guide price of £3.75 million.

Built of red brick, the nine-bedroom property stands in private grounds at the heart of Buckinghamshire's historic market town.

It is approached through an entrance hall with a Jacobean staircase.

Original features are retained in a drawing room, while a reception room overlooks the gardens and has an open fireplace.

Two further rooms are described as snugs, studies or dens.

A formal dining room is also on this floor.

At the centre of the house is a farmhouse-style kitchen with a pantry.

Other ground-floor accommodation includes two cloakrooms, a utility area and a glass conservatory.

Nine bedrooms are arranged across the two upper floors.

Five bedrooms occupy the first floor, where high ceilings and individual features are noted.

Two have en-suite bathrooms, and a separate shower room serves the remaining bedrooms.

A laundry room completes this level.

Four more bedrooms are found on the second floor, reached by winding corridors.

One has an en-suite bathroom.

Two bedrooms sit around a fully equipped kitchen and could be separated to form self-contained accommodation.

The listing says this arrangement could suit domestic staff or ancillary accommodation.

Outside, hedges frame the house and the grounds include a kitchen garden and tennis court.

Garaging is provided for three cars.

Additional private residents' parking is available opposite the house along a lane beside the church.

The setting is described as peaceful, with walking routes nearby.

Local facilities within walking distance include pubs, wine bars, a delicatessen and supermarkets.
