YOUNG and old were urged to set aside some time and help the community at a volunteer recruitment fair.
The drive, organised by Volunteer Focus, based in Priory Road, High Wycombe, took place on Saturday at the Guildhall in High Street, High Wycombe.
Many people turned up with an interest in helping local charities, including Bill Reid, whose charity-based work with the Priory Centre has led him to see how invaluable volunteers are.
He said: "It is a rewarding achievement to offer up some time for the community.
"You can give what you want, be it an hour a month or an evening a week. What many people do not realise is how much fun it can be."
Former Doctor Who star Colin Baker and Mayor Nigel Vickery even gave up some of their time to help out.
The recruitment volunteer drive marked the International Year of the Volunteer.
