THEY are named after the infamous pirate DJ, Emperor Rusco, and the rebellious and controversial namesake sums up Rosco perfectly.

The hip, punky, funky five-strong Rosco will be performing on Monday (May 19) at the White Horse, West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe.

Fronted by the enigmatic lead vocalist Erica, the band rely on a daring DIY approach and raw talent and their influences stretch from the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, to the Strokes and the Hives.

Listening to their EP Capital Stars it's clear the spirit of the band is firmly in the realms of punk mixed with blues and US garage.

Lyrically the band say the songs are taken from real-life experiences you know the kind, relationships break-ups and revenge. It seems performing live acts as a release for Erica's pent-up aggression and her gutsy, passionate style. It is these live performances which are creating a buzz within the industry.

Check them out before it's too late.
