I’ve just been reading the news article about Bucks County Council attempting to emulate the Top Gear team who managed to complete a 1,100 tonne road resurfacing job in 24 hours.

This is an excellent idea and I take my proverbial hat off to BCC for taking on the challenge. BCC are going to attempt a 1,300 tonne resurfacing job which will be bigger than the Top Gear effort.

Perhaps this is the way forward for road works, streamline the job and just get it over and done with, one big hold up lasting 24 hours is far better than a long draw out effort which causes delays for weeks or even months.

What’s more the council say that it will save £25,000 by doing it this way, I’m sure all the Council Tax payers in the district are pleased with this.

As far as I am concerned Jeremy Clarkson is a very wise man, perhaps the BBC could get him to do an article on recycling and see what ideas he comes up with on that subject.

I wish BCC good luck in their challenge and hope everything works out well for them.
