GERRARDS Cross Summer School kicked off its two week stint last week as eager pupils crammed into the Memorial Centre to learn about subjects ranging from The Grand Tour to Life at the Royal Opera House.
The school, in its 18th year, is run by seven volunteers and is designed to provide enjoyment for people who love learning and to raise money for the community association.
The classes run from 10am until 4.30pm and all participants are provided with morning coffee and lunch.
A one day course costs £27, and there have so far been 1,100 enrolments, more than ever before. The school runs until the end of the week.
