VILLAGERS will soon be able to get their skates on when a festive ice rink opens later this month.
Residents of Speen came up with the idea as a way of raising money for the village's pre-school, a registered charity.
The synthetic rink will be open to skaters in King William IV, Hampden Road, on December 27 and 28 between 1pm and 7pm.
Pre-school chairman Amanda Dobbs, who came up with the idea, said: “Everyone's been really fired up by the ice rink coming to the village and it'll be a brilliant way to extend all the fun of Christmas.”
Tickets will cost £3 for 15 minutes and £4.50 for 20 minutes and can be booked in advance by contacting Amanda on 01494 488887 or Amanda.speen@btopenworld.com.
