TONIGHT the streets of Beaconsfield will be shining brightly as the town enjoys its annual Festival of Lights to help get in the Christmas spirit.
A major part of the evening by the Rotary Club, will be a procession of young people from schools and other organisations throughout the town.
Many will carry sculptures they have made, with the assistance of staff from South Bucks District Council, on the theme of 'space'.
The procession, to be led by the town crier, begins at Hughes Garage in Station Road at 7pm and ends with carol singing on the Council Green.
Father Christmas will be putting in an appearance along with a pair of reindeer, and other entertainers.
Musical and choral performances from local schools will take place on a stage outside Costa Coffee, and a range of stalls will be open, many selling for charity and community causes. Many shops throughout the New Town will also be welcoming the public.
The event's main sponsor this year is The Frost Partnership, and the main project being supported is 'Splash'. This aims to build a new covered swimming pool at Alfriston School in Penn Road, Knotty Green.
