A NEW charity hospice that raises funds for people with life-shortening conditions is set to open in Chesham on Friday.

Helen and Douglas House, which cares for children and young adults up to the age of 35, will be opening its new branch in The Broadway at 10.30am.

Hospice founder, Sister Frances Dominica, will be joined by children from Hawridge and Cholesbury Primary School for the opening.

The charity hopes it will raise money and continue to offer respite and end of life care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions and support for the whole family.

Sister Frances Dominica said: “We very much hope that the new shop will not only raise much-needed funds to run the two houses, but will also help to spread the word in our region that Helen House and Douglas House are warm, bright, vibrant places, which support the whole family.”
