Buckinghamshire New University is expanding into West London with a new base for its nursing students.
It has signed the lease on a site in Uxbridge which it will be using from September 2009.
The modern building, in Oxford Road, is owned by Invista Foundation Property Trust. It will be refurbished to provide facilities primarily for nursing students.
Dr Ruth Farwell, vice chancellor of Bucks New Uni, said: “The Uxbridge site will provide an ideal base for our nursing programmes as well as our applied research in health. Our undergraduate students will benefit from being closer to their placement providers and those undertaking professional programmes will be able to study closer to their workplace.
“We are delighted to have finalised the agreement, which marks a further milestone in the evolution of Bucks New University, and look forward to having a West London location from September 2009. Our new facilities there will be used to provide education for health professionals of the future, and so you could say it's giving everyone a new lease of life.”
The university’s nursing students and employees are currently based at its Chalfont campus.
