HIGH Wycombe's Eden Shopping Centre could attract more than one million visitors before Christmas, officials said today.

Statistics for the centre suggest as many as 400,000 shoppers are visiting Eden in the run-up to the festive season.

Daniel Tomkinson, Centre Director at Eden, said: “I am delighted with how busy Eden is during our first Christmas.  “Our official statistics tell us there are around 400,000 shoppers coming here each week and this is growing each week in the run up to Christmas.

“This means that we could see over a million visitors at Eden between now and Christmas and considering our great shops and the amount of entertainment and activities going on we’re experiencing the same buzz we felt when the centre opened in March.”

Mr Tomkinson added he was pleased with feedback from customers about Eden's Christmas lights and free parking after 6pm.

He said: “We are delivering a great festive atmosphere at Eden which is what Christmas shopping is all about.”

On Monday Wycombe district councillor Hugh McCarthy said footfall at the centre was “very, very good in the current climate.”
