THERE’S a touch of magic about this year’s Christmas, thanks to Creation Theatre Company’s latest show.

Hans Christian Andersen’s Magical Tales marks the company’s fourth Christmas production in the 100-year-old Mirror Tent at the BMW Group Plant in Oxford. The show promises to be a rollercoaster ride through some of Andersen’s best loved fairytales, including The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Little Mermaid and The Princess and the Pea, but told as you’ve never seen them before.

This year’s show has been adapted by Lizzie Hopley, who wrote Creation’s 2005 play, The Snow Queen. Producer and artistic director David Parrish adds: “We are delighted to be back for another show in the Mirror Tent, which is incredibly popular with our audiences and works beautifully with our innovative style of storytelling.

“Many families tell us that a trip to the Mirror Tent to see a Creation show is the highlight of their year, and we believe that this year’s will be our best Christmas show yet.”

Hans Christian Andersen’s Magical Tales runs until Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Mirror Tent, BMW Group Plant Oxford. Details: 01865 766266 or www.creationtheatre.co.uk
