STOLEN cars worth more than £125,000 were seized by police in a major operation this week.
Ten drivers were arrested during a series of stop checks on Wednesday for crimes including theft of motor vehicles, driving while disqualified and burglary.
A further 19 vehicles were found not to be roadworthy and 25 were seized from drivers who were either uninsured or did not have a licence.
Thames Valley Police's air support unit, Automatic Number Plate Recognition team and dog section were all involved in Operation Trilogy.
They combined to track the stolen vehicles – one of which was followed from Iver to Oxford.
Officers declared Operation Trilogy to be a great success.
Sergeant Steven Madoc-Jones, who co-ordinated the operation, said: “The operation saw a significant number of successes following the stop checks and pro-active patrols.
"The roads policing department will continue to provide support to local police teams across Buckinghamshire to reduce crime, promote responsible driving and reassure the public.
“The message to criminals operating in Buckinghamshire is very clear - we will deny you the use of the roads if you commit a crime.”
