CHOIRS from across Buckinghamshire are preparing their vocal chords for the grand finale of Eden's Christmas Choir competition this afternoon.

From 2pm the centre in Wycombe will be filled with the sounds of carols as shoppers and spectators gather to see which choir will be crowned the winners.

Among the finalists are the Borlase's Gospel Choir, Seer Green CE School Choir, Amersham A Capella, St Louis Catholic Primary School from Aylesbury, Vocal Performance Academy from Gerrards Cross, Stokenchurch Primary School Choir, Knights of Harmony from Chesham and St Augustine's Church Choir from Wycombe.

They will perform a mix of carols and other songs before a trio of judges. Online votes from the public, which have been coming in since the early heats of the competition began last month, will also be added to the choirs' overall scores.

There will also be a performance from the High Wycombe Sea Cadets.
