A CHARITABLE organisation is calling upon the public to give a present of food and supplies this Christmas, in a bid to help homeless people through the festive season.
WhyCOME will be holding its Christmas party on Saturday, from 11am to 3pm at St John’s Hall in Desborough Road.
The non-profit organisation is asking people to spare donations of all kinds of items for its homeless guests.
It suggests foods such as tea, coffee, canned goods, juice and biscuits, toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo and soap, as well as clothing for men, women and children.
WhyCOME also depends on monetary donations from the public and business community to run its “drop-in day” facilities for homeless people.
It is looking for a new venue to operate from after this month, and asks anyone who knows a suitable location to get in touch.
For more information, or details on giving donations, contact Paul Griggs on 07525 940692, or email ptgriggs@ntlworld.com
