BUSINESS managers from two schools in the Wycombe area have been awarded prestigious national qualifications.

Louisa Dent from Highcrest Community School in Hatters Lane, High Wycombe and Theresa Purse from Carrington Junior School in Carrington Avenue, Flackwell Heath were both recognised by the National College of School Leadership.

There were awarded the Certificate of Business Management, a qualification aiming to give school business managers the skills to meet the changes in 21st century schools.

The qualification involves finance, resource management, the securing of additional funding and human resources.

The idea is for this to allow headteachers and other staff to concentrate solely on teaching.

Trevor Summerson, senior programme manager at NCSL said: “School business managers have an increasingly vital role to play in schools today.

He added: “They are now qualified to make an invaluable contribution to the smooth running of schools in High Wycombe.”
