TRANSPORT services in the county have been affected by the poor weather.

Bus services have been cut and trains are running slower than usual.

Arriva buses have cut their usual service by a quarter, with their buses sticking to the main roads.

Carousel buses meanwhile are running normally on operations through High Wycombe and Bourne End – but the service to Amersham is terminating at Holmer Green.

London Underground services on the Metropolitan line are suspended between Amersham and Chesham and Harrow.

Chiltern Railways are not operating trains between Amersham and London – but apart from that services are operating fully, albeit slightly slower than normal.

Oliver Calvert, spokesman for Chiltern Railways, said there were delays of between 15 and 20 minutes on mainline services through High Wycombe between Birmingham and Marylebone.

He said: “Trains are having to run slower than normal and some drivers couldn't make it into work this morning.

“Otherwise there have not been too many problems – so far, so good.”

Drivers have been warned to take extra care on the roads today.

Heavy overnight snow left many of Hazlemere's steep roads impassable this morning with traffic unable to reach the main road down into Wycombe.

Further heavy snow began falling again at 8.30am.

One car that had tried to negotiate Cedar Avenue ended up crashing into a bollard by the gritting bin while others got stuck trying to get up the hill.
