Nadine Samuels, a Performing Arts dance student from Amersham & Wycombe College, will take to the stage at the annual Learning and Skills Council Awards evening on 20 May at the Copthorne Hotel near Gatwick, where she will sing Etta James' song, "At Last".

Nadine, aged 18 from Aylesbury, who is in the second year of a National Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) course, auditioned against 25 other acts to earn the privilege of performing on stage at the prestigious LSC event.

“I love to sing and am really thrilled to have got through the auditions and to have the opportunity to perform on stage,” says Nadine.

In addition to her forthcoming stage appearance, Nadine has been accepted to the Urdang Academy in London on a three year Musical Theatre programme upon graduation from Amersham & Wycombe College. The Urdang Academy has given Nadine the opportunity to train with them twice a week in preparation for the scholarship audition in May.

“Nadine has natural performance ability and has improved her dance technique by leaps and bounds, having only ever studied street dance and hip hop before coming to the College,” says Nadine’s Course Leader, Rebecca Smedley. “Since joining us, Nadine has taken up ballet, contemporary dance, jazz and tap and has shown a real gift for choreography,” adds Rebecca. “She sings with a natural, powerful and passionate voice, in spite of having no formal training.”
