Fifteen universities and representatives from employers and the armed forces will assemble at Amersham & Wycombe College on Tuesday, November 24, from 3 – 6.30pm, as part of a comprehensive Higher Education Careers Fair organised by enterprising college business students.
The event, which takes place at the Amersham Campus on Stanley Hill, provides a convenient opportunity for 16-18 year olds looking to explore educational/career aspirations, to speak to key representatives of numerous organisations under one roof.
Universities attending include East London-based Brunel, Nottingham-based Trent, Kent, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, and De Montfort University in Leicester. In addition, representatives from the Army, Navy, plus local companies - Gordons Property Lawyers, Champneys Health Spa, Better Prospects Recruitment Agency and Nexus Gym & Health Clubs - will be there. Connexions and Amersham & Wycombe College’s work-based learning team will also be on hand to offer advice and guidance.
“The event is shaping up as the biggest-ever careers fair to be held at the college,” says Business & IT lecturer Trisha Flynn. “It’s all down to our BTEC National Diploma Business students who are organising the event as part of a business module.”
For any 16-18 year old looking to explore options in education or employment, the high calibre of attendees should make this an event not to be missed.
