STRANDED residents left without a bus service to their village have vowed to continue fighting to have it re-instated.

The 305 service into Seer Green was dropped by operator Jason Tours last week – just a month after the franchise had taken over the running of it.

It had already been severely cut, with passengers having to catch two buses in order to get to High Wycombe.

But this week campaigners met with three county councillors in a bid to get their buses back again.

Among those taking part in the discussions were Seer Green Parish Council chairman Phil Clarke and campaigner Colin Walker.

Several criteria have been proposed for any new service.

Residents say they want good connections with the 336 service from High Wycombe to Watford, as a “significant minority” of villagers wish to travel to Amersham station, which is served on this route.

Operators will also be “encouraged to make a proposal that includes commercial extension of the service to High Wycombe” and asked to make sure “reasonable access to and from local medical facilities be ensured”.

Campaigners hope the submission will be made to the county council, which subsidises bus routes, “within days”.
