ORGANISERS of High Wycombe’s pancake race hope the event will be back next year after failing to take place yesterday and last year.
Wheelchair charity Shopmobility organises the event but manager Dave Griffin said it did not take place last year as it was moving into the Eden centre.
An increased workload meant this year’s event did not take place, he said – but Mr Griffin said he was planning for it to happen next year.
He said: “We are optimistic that we will be able to resurrect it in 2011.”
The event draws a large crowd as competitors run through the High Street under strict instructions to flip their pancake a set number of times.
Proceeds go to Shopmobility, which provides wheelchairs to shoppers.
