TEACHERS went head to head with pupils in a contest based around Noel Edmunds show Are you smarter than a ten year old?
Year 8 children at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in West Street, Marlow, emerged victorious over their teachers in the one on one quiz, based on the Sky One programme, which covered a range of subjects.
The group of girls from class 8A came out top after answering questions on History, Geography, English, Science, French and German.
Are you smarter than a Borlase pupil? raised just over £230 for Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.
It was held in Borlase’s theatre on Wednesday March 3 and hosted by Kayley White and Kate Yuille, helped by fellow organisers, Beth Duncan and Rosie Street.
The show began with a fantastic song by the jazz band, the Watermelon Men, comprising Year 8 and 9 pupils.
Learning mentor Diana Davis said: “The air ambulance had made a presentation to these pupils in October and it was this that inspired them to raise money for such a fantastic cause that saves people’s lives day after day.”
The panel of students that answered questions paired up with a member of staff were: Tom Humphrey, Chris Hulse, Ella Gronmark, Olivia Radcliffe, Louie Fenwick and Mac Jones (6th former).
