CALLING local thespians. Do you want to act in a play by William Shakespeare? Budding actors and actresses are being sought by the Chiltern Shakespeare Company for their new production of As You Like It, which is their summer offering at Hall Barn, Beaconsfield in June. VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with reading in schools. The South Bucks Volunteer Centre and the South Bucks Adult Learning Department are organising a three-day course beginning next Thursday at Stoke Poges Village Hall for volunteers to gain some familiarity with current reading practice for junior and middle school age children and help encourage them to develop confidence in reading.

The three-day course, other dates are February 6 and 13, gives information about the National Curriculum and the key stages of the childrens work programme. To register or find out more about the course, call 01753 893793.
