ON Tuesday, January 14 there was another meeting for Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators in the Totteridge area, About 40 members attended at the Godstowe School in Amersham Road. The meeting included an extensive presentation by PC John Taylor on drugs. He provided the audience with mock-ups of around 20 different drugs in various forms.

In explaining the considerable presence of drugs in our society, he provided valuable information on the availability of drugs, their costs, the effects on crime, the levels of addiction, the symptoms in the users and the effects on the user's health. With the vast majority of crime being related to drugs in some way PC Taylor's presentation was very relevant to the crime prevention ambitions of members of the Neighbourhood Watch movement.

Further similar meetings will take place every three months or so at the Godstowe School. For further information on Neighbourhood Watch telephone the police NHW office on 01494 736642.
