MARLOW secured only their third point of the season with a spirited 7-7 draw at Truro on Saturday.

After a poor first start to the season, the Riverwoods Men have started the New Year rejuvenated, being unlucky to lose their first game of 2003 against the league leaders, and holding out for a draw at the weekend against a side who had won all but two of their home games this season.

In poor conditions, Marlow played against the elements in the first half but dominated the first period.

They kept Truro penned back in their own half but failed to score themselves, with Truro coming back into the game by the end of the half.

And the Riverwoods Men were put under more and more pressure in the second half, though they looked to have kept the Cornish side at bay until the full back ran in for a converted try.

Marlow bounced back though and got a thoroughly deserved try when captain Kev Robinson crashed over for the converted score to level.

A penalty was then missed which would have given Marlow the lead, but Truro failed to capitalise, missing a penalty themselves, to leave the scores tied at the end.

The Riverwoods Men are at home tomorrow to ninth-placed Keynsham (ko 2.30pm) and then play Beaconsfield in the Bucks Cup on Sunday (ko 2pm), with the winners facing Wycombe.

Becky lost 37-5 to Olney at the weekend.

Chinnor lost 29-16 to Cinderford away at the weekend and are now just three points ahead of Marlow.

They play Cheltenham at home tomorrow.
