PUPILS at Wycombe High School transformed into avid football fans when they were invited to a Wycombe Wanderers match.
The Blues' invitation to the home tie against Oldham on Saturday encouraged girls who might not normally attend a match to go along and enjoy the sport.
Staff at the school, in Marlow Hill, High Wycombe, recently launched a football team.
Danielle Hills, 12, said: "It was a very tense match and we were on the edge of our seats all the time. I'd like to go again. We were pleased to be able to offer the Wanderers extra support."
Elizabeth Ing-Simmons, 12, said: "I'd never been to a football match before and I'm definitely going again. It was really exciting."
Teacher Gill Hazell said: "It was a wonderful match. It was a very exciting game and all the girls and staff who went have really enjoyed it.
"Everyone who went would like to thank the team for a wonderful afternoon."
