CROWDS of rain-soaked protesters waved their banners outside Downing Street in a bid to make their voices heard about the closure of Chesham Bois Post Office.

Chiltern District councillor Mimi Harker (Con, Chesham Bois and Weedon Hill) who organised Monday's event, said it was a successful day and praised the community for its support.

A small group of supporters knocked on Number Ten and handed in a 600-signature petition to Tony Blair, asking him to save the Bois Lane store.

Cllr Harker also added a personal letter to the Prime Minister, asking him to visit the counter when he makes a trip to Chequers.
