A DIRECTOR of a company that failed with debts of more than £300,000 has given an undertaking not to act as a company director for five years.

Alan Penn, of Dukes Wood Avenue, Gerrards Cross, was a director of Rabbit Digital Limited until it went into liquidation in April 2001 with debts of £347,389.

The acceptance of the undertaking on December 16 last year by Mr Penn prevents him from having a hand in the management of a company or setting one up for the next five years.

Another director, Barry Everitt, from Dartford in Kent, gave an undertaking not to act as a director for seven years.

The Government Insolvency Service alleged both men failed to submit VAT returns and when the firm collapsed it owed £63,000 in VAT. More than £122,000 was owed in employee taxation and National Insurance contributions.

It was also claimed that both men allowed 154 cheques to be issued without properly considering whether they would be honoured.

Rabbit Digital, a digital printing and reprographics business, was based in Newman Street, London.
