FIREFIGHTERS were called to the scene of a road traffic accident after reports of trapped passengers following a two-car smash.
Two crews, from Chesham and Amersham, attended the accident in Latimer Road, at the junction of Hollow Way Lane, Chesham, shortly after 9pm on Friday.
Although three passengers had been freed before the brigade's arrival, a further seriously injured man had to be cut free from the twisted wreckage.
Firefighter Lawrence Whitelock, who attended the accident, told Midweek that officers started cutting the car roof with pneumatic equipment to free the trapped man, but the severity of his injuries forced immediate action.
He said: "The ambulance guys were worried about his injuries so we had to pull him out through the side of the car."
All four were taken to Wycombe Hospital where they were treated for injuries.
