A SCHOOLGIRL will be heading for TV fame when she appears in a comedy series next month.

Emma Sackville, 13, of Plomer Green Lane, Downley is to appear in BBC comedy 'My Dad's the Prime Minister' which is written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman.

The Wycombe High School pupil appears alongside Robert Bathurst, who has appeared in Cold Feet, Carla Mendocca, from My Parents Are Aliens and Joe Prospero from My Uncle Silas.

Emma plays the daughter of the prime minister and the story is told through her brother's eyes.

Emma said this was the best show she has worked on, as she could be a stroppy teenager which is not allowed at home. Emma began acting when she was five at the Jackie Palmer Stage School.

She has performed in Oklahoma! at the National Theatre with Maureen Lipman, and in The Herbal Bed at the Barbican with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

She has acted on television before in Stephen Poliakoff's Perfect Strangers on the BBC and has also acted as an extra as a classmate of Harry Potter in the first film.

Emma said: "The school and my friends have been very supportive in making sure that I kept up with school work while I was involved in my acting. I also had a tutor on set. In the future I'd love to be an actress as it's so exciting but work is often uncertain, so I intend to keep all my options open. At school I love English, Maths and Drama. I especially love seeing all my friends at school."

As well as acting, Emma enjoys tap, ballet and playing the flute.
