ATHLETICS: Handy Cross Runners retained the Highworth half marathon trophy on Sunday.
The runners put in another superb display to triumph, with the winning team of Trevor Hunter, Alfred Benjamin, John Dooey, Peter Edington and Alex Richmond helping the side to the title, sharing first place with Bourton Road Runners.
And the club was well represented at the event. 11 other runners competing in the half marathon, with Sue Fenn, Benjamin and Richmond achieving personal bests.
Times: Trevor Hunter 1hour 15mins, Alfred Benjamin and John Dooey in 1.23, Peter Edington and John Peerless in 1.26, Alex Richmond in 1.28, Nick Martin in 1.32, John Bradbury and Trevor Free in 1.33, Des Mannion and Sue Fenn in 1.38, Ed Ramon in 1.42, Mike Hickman in 1.45, Paul Jennings in 1.48, Debbie Ridout in 1.52.
