GARY Abbott scored in the first minute of his Chesham debut as the Meadow Men recorded their second straight league victory with an important 2-1 win over Braintree.
The result keeps Chesham clear of the relegation area, earning the Meadow Men breathing space.
Their win on Saturday was aided by Chesham's 37-year-old striker Abbott. The former Aldershot man made the ideal start to his debut by heading Steve Sincalir's cross and then turned provide for the second half winner when his cross was met by Andr Scarlett.
Braintree had equalised in the tenth minute but nothing was stopping Chesham from recording their first league win at Cressing Road.
