ST MARY'S Way in Chesham will be turned into Broadway next week when all the hit musical songs are brought to The Elgiva.

New London Entertainment presents The Best of Broadway which will be an evening of songs from both sides of the Atlantic, featuring some of the most popular music from Les Miserables, Oklahoma, Cats, West Side Story and Carousel.

Mark Barnes, from the Elgiva theatre, says: "This show features exciting young singers who will overwhelm the audience with an array of highly polished and superbly produced numbers from Broadway."

The cast in the show have appeared in more than 20 West End shows between them and have appeared on TV and Friday Night is Music Night on BBC Radio 2.

The director of the company, Matthew Gould, is originally from Bristol where he trained as a musician before moving to London to study performing arts.

Mark adds: "Matthew has an extraordinary vocal technique that produces an exquisite sound especially in the softer, higher ranges as you will see when he performs Starlight Express and Edelweiss."

Musical director and arranger for the singers is Peter McCarthy, who has performed around the world and has numerous television and radio credits to his name.
