HUNDREDS of mourners are expected to turn out tomorrow to pay their final respects to 16-year-old Vicky Bishop, who died after a friend's car hit a tree at an accident blackspot.

A horse-drawn hearse will take the former Holmer Green Upper School pupil on her last journey through Tylers Green at 2pm before the service at St Margaret's Church in Hammersley Lane.

Flowers and cards have been left by friends and relatives at the scene of the accident which happened on the A404 Amersham Road at Beamond End, between Holmer Green and Penn Street last Thursday night.

Vicky, who lived in New Road, Tylers Green, was on her way to Winkers Farm Country Club in Chalfont St Peter with two friends at around 10.30pm when their blue Ford Fiesta left the road and hit a tree.

Vicky, who was the back-seat passenger, was declared dead at the scene. The driver, a 26-year-old woman from Amersham, and another 16-year-old girl were taken to Wycombe Hospital. They were both discharged over the weekend.

Vicky's devastated parents Doug and Sue Bishop said they have been overwhelmed by the support from the community and said hundreds of people are expected at the church for tomorrow's 2.15pm service.

Doug said: "She was larger than life and just outgoing. She was vivacious and so many people knew her. The house hasn't been the same since Thursday night. We are still having cards coming through and phone calls from friends."

They said they are thinking of putting a bench in memory of Vicky in the church grounds.

She also leaves her brothers James, 18 and William, 11.
