I WOULD like to apologise for any inconvenience if you attended the proposed launch of the Friends of St Mary and All Saints Church. I was not notified of the cancellation of this meeting until Friday. Apologies are given for the cancellation.

A JUMBLE sale, in aid of new hut funds, will be held at the Guide Hut, Malthouse Square, on Saturday from 10am.

TICKETS for on Saturday's concert of the Music Society are available from Drysdales at £10 each, or phone 01494 673905. Philip Moore and Simon Crawford-Phillips, two very talented pianists, will be at Beaconsfield High School, performing from 7.45pm.

ON Wednesday, the Catholic Women's League have a Quiet Day after 10am Mass at St Teresa's. This Retreat will be led by Mary Sketch.

RAY Brindley will entertain at the Red Cross Over 65s meeting on Tuesday, at the Red Cross Hut in Garvin Avenue from 2.30pm.

ONLY three more meetings left this season for talks by the National Trust. Thursday's talk, in the Fitzwilliams Centre as usual, starts at 3pm and will be an insight in to the history of The Language of Fans, given by Amanda Rayner.

ON that same date, but at 8pm in the same place, is a meeting for St Mary's Evening Group, with Ken Gibson of HM Customs and Excise providing A Guide to Smuggling. All are welcome to both these meetings.

BERKS, Bucks and Oxon Big Band will perform at the Beaconsfield School in Wattleton Road, on Saturday, February 23 to raise funds for Woodrow High House and the Cardiac Unit at High Wycombe Hospital. The concert, organised by the Inner Wheel Club of Beaconsfield, will start at 7pm and will be accompanied by a wartime style dinner and a little dancing. There will also be a bar and raffle. Tickets are £15 each and available from 01494 672320 or 01628 520289. This concert is to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

A SPECIAL Songs of Praise is being organised by St Mary and All Saints Church for 6.30pm on February 24. They would like to find the most popular religious songs and hymns in the parish, and the top ten will be sung. Vote for your three favourites on the form in the parish magazine (available at most newsagents or from the church) and return it to the church, or the parish office.

A new music group for babies and toddlers will open on February 26 at the Curzon Centre (1.30-2pm for under twos, and 2.15-2.45pm for two to four years). Pre-booking must be made for High Notes and for details call Louise on 01494 725408.
