DO you want to close your Prestwood street for a Golden Jubilee party but have found it costs too much so cancelled the party idea? Chiltern District Council plan to produce one massive road closure order listing all the applicants, therefore reducing the cost to a mere £25 administration charge. You must get your application to the council by February 28. Call Geoff Bennett for more details on 01494 732067.

HALF-TERM peace and quiet does exist but you'll have to visit the Church Cottage next Tuesday to find it. It's time once more for Prestwood's Quiet Garden Ministry between 9.45am and 12.15pm when you can reflect and be tranquil. No particular religious beliefs are required, just your own thoughts and peaceful reflection. Enjoy.

LOCAL Lighthouse fundraising continues and this time Prestwood and Missenden folk are joining with the Hyde Heath Old Time Music Hall Society to put on a show in Holmer Green next Saturday at 8pm. Doors open at 7.15pm and tickets are £6 for adults and £4 for children from 01494 864373.

LOCAL folk over 50 not only have stacks of regular activities to attend at Prestwood Village Hall, be it lace-making, yoga or old time dancing, they can also take part in what is called an Exercise Referral Scheme. Starting with a consultation with a health professional, a fitness instructor can be assigned by your doctor as a 'referral' to plan and oversee an appropriate progressive exercise programme. For full details call Lesley Simpson, Health Programme Manager on 01494 788919.
