HIGH Wycombe moved into the top six of the South Hockey League for the first time this season with a 4-3 win over bottom club Lions.
Royal Grammar School A level student Duncan Parnis hit a hat-trick as the Cressex-based club climbed to their highest position this season.
He fired them into a 1-0 lead but Lions came roaring back to go 2-1 up before Wycombe turned it round again.
Andy Burroughs hit the equaliser before Parnis took the game by the scruff of the neck to give the visitors a vital win.
Coach Peter Downer said: "It was a real contrast in styles. They dribbled the ball a lot. We know we can play better than that but we're happy to take the points."
Elsewhere, Vicky Gray opened the scoring for Harlow ladies in their Trysports League third division derby against Marlow but then finished on the sore end of a 6-1 spanking.
Marlow now need one more win from their remaining three matches to take the title and they could sew that up this weekend when they travel to bottom club Maidenhead.
Liz Clegg put them back on level terms with a spectacular solo goal to make the scores level before Helen North, Ali Wheatley and Margot Nichols, with a hat-trick made the game safe.
