THE cousin of hit-and-run victim Paul Bowden has appealed for a youngster who was hit by a motorist only an hour before Paul on the same stretch of road to contact police.

Warren Lush, 23, of Prestwood, said he wanted two young men to help track down the motorist who hit 20-year-old cousin Paul on June 25 as he walked home from the Orchard Nightclub in Hazlemere.

Mr Lush called the BFP after we exclusively revealed in Midweek that police wanted to hear from two youngsters who were picked up by a man after a driver knocked into one of them on the same night Paul died on the A413 Amersham Road, near Woodrow, Hazlemere.

Mr Lush said: 'Paul was a great cousin and a very popular boy. I miss him very much and want to get to the bottom of this. I want the boys to come forward to help find out what happened.'

One of the youngsters who was picked up at around 2am on the same night said he had been hit by a vehicle.

Sgt Phil Haseler, of Amersham traffic police, said: 'On the same night, just before Paul was killed, at around 2am to 2.30am, a man saw two young lads walking on the A413 in Amersham and one of them was injured.

'They reported being hit by a 4x4 vehicle. The man who spotted them gave them a lift home to Amersham.'

It is thought that the good samaritan who gave the two youngsters a lift home took them to the Green Lane area of Amersham.
