WANDERERS new signing Steve Jones will make his Wycombe debut in tomorrow's friendly at Ryman League Boreham Wood.

The striker has signed on a three-month loan from Bristol City with a view to a permanent six-figure move.

With top scorer Sean Devine injured Jones joins the squad for tomorrow's match which has been arranged as payment for Matt Brady who moved from the Woods to Wycombe last Christmas.

The 30-year-old arrives with question marks over his fitness after his unhappy £450,000 move from Charlton to Bristol and Sanchez is delighted City are allowing him to examine the goods before buying.

He said: 'In an ideal world you'd want to do transfers this way. We've agreed a fee with Bristol and it's up to Jones to prove he's worth it.'

'He's almost the identikit of Sean Devine when he first arrived. His career was going backwards, but if he can do half what Sean's done since being here I'll be very pleased.'

Starting tomorrow and continuing with Tuesday's home friendly against QPR (ko 7.45pm), Jones has 18 games to prove himself. Fans wanting to go to Boreham Wood should contact Rena on (01296) 429307.
