The roadster with its noisy roaring,
The "Roller" with a gentle purring,
The cabriolet with top pulled down,
The "cab" for hire around the town.
Long stretch "Limo", room for eight,
"Joe and Carol's" banger. Man and mate.
The vehicle, the "old jam jar",
Means of transport, near and far.
Shining symbol, sleek and fast,
Battered heap, with glories past.
Powered by diesel, or petrol driven,
Saved up job, or present given.
Used for work, or maybe leisure,
Daily grind or just for pleasure.
Taking kids to school each day,
Eating up miles on the motorway.
From "Model T", through times a-changing,
"Beetle" shape, or Rover ranging,
On lanes of clay, or roads of tar.
Here's a toast to The Motor Car.
