DR Challoner's Grammar School students quizzed the Labour candidate bidding to win the Chesham and Amersham constituency at the next general election.
Pupils at the school, in Chesham Road, Amersham, welcomed Dr Rupa Huq, the prospective parliamentary candidate for Labour, to its political society two weeks ago.
Dr Huq said she was pleased to visit the school's society which showed young people are interested in politics.
Lower sixth student Oliver Hyams, 17, started the society and invited Dr Huq to its first lunchtime meeting.
He said: "Dr Huq had some good ideas but she did not get an easy ride.
"Some of the older students are on the ball and lot of them are Conservatives.
"Dr Huq handled it quite well and she did not evade the difficult questions."
Oliver said the society hopes to meet all the candidates contesting the local seat.
Current Conservative MP Cheryl Gillan is keen to speak to the students, he added.
