Ricky Richards is a game-keeper who has been coming to The Plough in West Wycombe since it reopened ten months ago. He and his friends reckon it knocks the socks off the other pubs in the area.

What first attracted you and why do you keep coming back?
It's near my house and it's the best pub around. The bar staff are really nice and friendly. They are all female as well which is a bonus.

What's the atmosphere like?
It's really unpredictable and spontaneous which is why we like it here. You can come in here on a normal week day and it will be packed and you'll have a great night when you're least expecting it.

Have you ever made any friends in here?
Yeah, we have. We've met a lot of people in here that we've become friends with.

If you come in here on your own there'll always be someone to talk to. You'll always see a friendly face.

What's the best night you've ever had in here?
We had a really good New Year's Eve in here. We started drinking early and I ended up falling asleep on the bar at ten minutes to midnight. But there were loads of people in here and it was a brilliant night. I woke up later with a second wind and enjoyed the rest of the night.

What's the most embarrassing moment you've had here?
I think I've just told you.

What's the best pub story you've heard in here?
According to the landlady she once barred someone for being boring. When he started talking people would start leaving. He started drinking at the pub across the road but then they barred him too.

Has the pub changed over the years?
It was closed down for three years and they've completely redone it. The bar used to be tiny and you could only fit one person behind it. It's so much better now and looks much more modern.

In the summer it's really nice sitting outside on the patio. It's like being in someone's garden.
