MUSICAL MORNINGS for toddlers and babies are held at Penn Church hall, opposite the church, every Thursday between 10.10am and 10.55am. The sessions are a fun way for youngsters to discover music through the use of action songs and instruments. You do not have to book, just pop along and join in. Sessions cost either £2.50 or £3.50. CHILTERN HILLS ART SOCIETY meets at Penn Church hall on the first Monday of each month and welcomes new members from beginners to accomplished artists. The June meeting is a summer outdoor painting evening and the next meeting at Penn Church hall is on Monday, July 4.

SUMMER FAIR will take place in the grounds of Tylers Green Middle School on Sunday. It's from midday until 4pm and there will be lots of stalls to keep you entertained. With this being a major fundraiser for the school, you and your family will be most welcome.

CRICKET and the first eleven avoided defeat for the first time this season with a draw in their first ever fixture against newly promoted Englefield, Berkshire.

Englefield have made a winning start to life in the top division with nine and ten wicket wins.

Penn and Tylers Green had started their defence of the championship with two defeats and needed to get their season on track. Englefield batted first and their impressive batsmen struck again posting a formidable 331 for 4 off 51 overs. Penn made a brave fight of overhauling the total finishing on 273 for 9 from 49 overs, Toby Radford top scoring with 54.

The second eleven drew at Little Marlow, having restricted the home side to 190 for 9 they were unable to reach the victory target. They finished on 165 for 7, with Steve Coleman top scoring with 56.

This weekend the first eleven are away at Taplow while the second eleven host Taplow.

COLTS are starting an under nine age group and will be using the Hit and Miss cricket ground at Penn Street, opposite the Hit and Miss pub. If you have children of this age you should get them to the ground for 6.30pm on a Thursday evening. The club has acquired the services of a South African coach for this age group and the evenings will end at 8pm.
